The ASSOCHAM National Council on Water is committed to advancing clean, safe, sustainable, and resilient water solutions for India. The Council brings together government, industry, academia, and technology leaders to drive impactful policies, foster innovation, and promote water-use efficiency and responsible resource management.
Building on ASSOCHAM’s sustainability leadership, the Chamber has been nationally recognised as the “Best Industry Association” under the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Awards by the Ministry of Jal Shakti for its efforts in rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge, and felicitated by Shri C. R. Patil, Hon’ble Union Minister of Jal Shakti, for promoting the voluntary adoption of Water Use Efficiency (WUE) targets across industries.
The core purpose of the Council is to transform water conservation and management practices in India by changing the mindset and behaviour of stakeholders resulting in more effective and sustainable water management practices at the grassroots level. The council will fulfil its objectives by following the 4Ps approach i.e. “Policy”, “Programme”, “Public” and “Platform”.
ASSOCHAM – National Council on Water will strive to address the complex interdependencies and challenges associated with water sustainability. The Awards adhere to a transparent and rigorous assessment process that includes 4 stages of scrutiny and verification. The results of each assessment are reviewed by a pre-eminent Jury, comprising former bureaucrats, representatives of government, industry, and academia at two stages before arriving at the final decision.
*Site Visits may be arranged for certain shortlisted companies to verify the information provided in their application. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Jury.
